People with unrealistic expectations often fail in the Cisco Certified Network Associate Examination. Many of them have misperceptions:

  • If I got the CCSP certification, I will get my dreamed work;
  • CCSP certification is the rule of the IT industry;

Does CCSP certification really have such great power? Perhaps unrealistic expectations are caused by misinterpretations.

In fact, certification exams such as Cisco 642-515 is to test the candidates’ knowledge about some software, logic and the ability to solve the problem, however, virtually all the clients and employees expect rich experience and skills from you. It should be known that CCSP certification exam will not increase your working experience.

Furthermore, the 642-515 tests technical skills mainly, but you can’t succeed in IT industry by skills only. Therefore, if you want to get somewhere in IT industry, apart from the proficiency in a certain skill, you also need other knowledge such as interpersonal relationships, contacting skills, team work and so on.

All in all, you should have a clear idea in your mind and then go for the test, with the sufficent time and resources to complete it. You may acquire more useful experiences from the media, internet and even your superiors.
